Hi Martin,
you have done fantastic so far - so no need to say sorry. :)

OK then boot into normal mode and do this (You are able to boot into normal mode?):

Export CBS folder

  • Click the Start button Posted Image then click Computer.
  • Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  • Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  • Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  • Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  • Attach this to your next post please. If it is too big, please use an alternative uploading method then send me the link (Dropbox, SkyDrive, SendSpace etc.).

That will do the same.

you will love this..........

booted up in normal mode

screen keeps refreshing every 1 - 2 seconds as previously described but...

when cursor hovers over the start button I get a solid eggtimer and am unable to activate the button

Also when the windows button on the KB is hit nothing happens - its dead

Task Manager sees verclsid.exe dancing in and out as before at the same rate as the screen refresh and eating up lots of CPU

Tried rebooting into normal ' SAFEMODE '

same again

Screen refresh now faster - Start button un ' clickable ' KB windows button inoperable. Verclsid unable to be switched off in
task manager mode.

back to you

enjoy

Logs is a folder, not a file. You have to copy it to your Desktop, than Right click on it >> Send To >> Zip Compromised Folder and attach the .ZIP folder here. :)

Hey Martin.
Bad news. I think a complete reinstall of the system is the best for you. Since we tried several things which didn't helped I think a complete Reinstall will help (except it is a hardware issue). Please follow the instructions here to reinstall your system.

I'm sorry.
