Lost my Desktop home screen

I had a soare desktop monitor lying around so i decided to hook it up and try and get a dual setup going. When i had it all wired up i went on to set my desktop home screen onto the second monitor ( the one i had just hooked up) upon doing this my first and majn monitor when black screen and the other remained black screen. Eventually after unplugging and replugging alot of wires (of which i cant remember) the second monitor came back to life with my desktop homescreen on it. I then decided to try and get the homescreen back onto the first monitor because i thought it abit dodgey. The same thing happned again except this time it hasnt come back!!! All my monitors are saying (with the right cables plugged in) are "NO SIGNAL" and "VGA/PC NO SIGNAL" any advice on where to go after this because im blind at the moment and have nothing on my monitors and i mean NOTHING just those notices.

Can I first of all ask whether all power was isolated from both computers whenever you were connecting and disconnecting each cable.

Please provide information about your "main" computer, this includes is it a notebook or desktop, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if it is a brand name provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the MB, add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable us to better assist you.
