Hello~ I really appreciate anyone who can help me:
My OS is vista starter.

Black Screen with mouse cursor problem.
ctrl alt del doesn't work, nothing works here in normal mode, just the black screen and cursor.

Safe mode / safe mode with network works fine though.
Tried doing system restore, but it's turned off. I went to turn it on but 'system protection' tab is absent. don't know why, maybe because I'm in safe mode, not sure.

My installation disk won't work anymore that's why I also can't do system repair using the disk.

Hello masoliar

I note that you only have Vista SP1 installed, is there a reason for this.

As you can boot into Safe Mode with Networking the first thing that I suggest is manually downloading/installing Vista SP2 as this may resolve what is possibly a VGA driver problem, an upgrade may fix it, see here
