Does anyone know the correlation between OSPP and PC shutdowns? Does the software platform shut the system down?

This has been ongoing for a while now so when it happens, I have to go into msconfig and disable the OSPP service in the start up services tab and the problem goes away but I'm just curious why it happens? Is it to do with suspected pirated copies of MS Office?
