First, is this the correct forum?

I'm running Windows 7. I downloaded VM Virtualbox so that I can run some old non-game 16 bit programs (Excel 4.0 in particular).

I believe I loaded it correctly - ALERT: I am not a computer whiz!

When I click on the Oracle VM shortcut, the VirtualBox Manager comes up. On the left side is the XP logo. When I click on START, I get "No bootable medium found! System halted." There is some Youtube and other forums on this issue, but the items they say to do, I don't have. For example, they say click on Storage in the VM Manager and then click on something that I don't have.

Please help.

I got so frustrated with the Oracle VM VirtualBox that I have abandoned it and will use Windows XP Mode. IF I have problems with that, I check in here later. I will end this posting (if I can figure out how to do so).

VirtualBox is pretty handy and I recommend it often. It keeps me from spending money on hardware. ;-)
Just curious, have you tried right clicking the shortcut and then selecting "Run as Administrator" to see if you have the missing features? Also, some features require the VM to be off. Or on. Depending on the feature.

What is the thing you don't have?

From the problem description I have an opinion that XP wasn't even installed on a VM. lol
