1: This lessens the likelihood of the system having been shorted out which is a + at least.

2: If any of the parts still work you could re-use them for a HTPC when you next upgrade.

3: No worries.

4: This strengthens the memory/memory slots as being the cause of the issue, as you know video cards use a lot more power than the Ram and so if the video cards had overheated or shorted the MB that area of the board would be damaged, unfortunately this does not stop the video card/s being damaged by other faulty hardware.

5: Some MBs will not boot if there is no Ram in Dimm slot 0/A, part of the reason why I asked how many sticks you have was so that I knew whether or not I needed to ask you to only use one stick at a time while testing and if slot 0/A had to have Ram in it at all times.

6: The generic PSU is fine for the most basic of testing.

If you havn`t done so already you could try each stick one at a time in Dimm slot 0/A to see if the behaviour changes.

You can do the most basic of tests on both PSUs by following the example guide as in the video below.

Look at the other MB to see if anything can be done with it, this would involve swapping out the CPU and so you would need to have some fresh thermal paste and cleaning agent.

I've already did the test with one stick at a time (both channels) and with another cpu. The Mobo is gone, sure thing! As i've mentioned before, i think for two different reasons (referring to previous MB) or a combination of both.

The PSU is working and also is the GPU. (tested in a friend's system.)

I will buy another MoBo and a proper RAM for it asap. This should get things running again. Thx!
