I had a Trojan rootkit.h virus which I eventually managed to remove. I don't know if this caused the problem but I have now noticed that my windows XP firewall is disabled . When I go to control panel and Windows firewall or security centre (advanced) all areas are greyed out so cannot check boxes for On or Off, so I cannot enable the firewall. I also was unable to download windows security updates but have managed to resolve that problem. I think the 2 issues may be connected though. Does anybody know how to rectify this?
