Shortly after a windows update, my computer stopped making sound at all. I have restarted, I downloaded Tweaking and ran it several times, re-installed the audio drive and dozens of other tricks stated online. Sometimes it will work for a short while before stopping randomly. The most effective method so far has been to open up my sound control, go into my speaker properties, and fiddle with the default settings of the rate and bit depth and click test until it works, but lately even that hasn't been working. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi -

Run Windows System restore - select a restore point prior to the Windows Update(s).

If audio returns to normal, go through the Windows Updates 1-by-1 (install 1 at a time; re-boot) to figure out which update is giving you problems.

Regards. . .
