Do you think this is a result of a malware related problem ? Though from what you have mentioned something relating to the environment variables is amiss for the profile in use for example.

Anyway if this does pertain to something malware related merely let myself know which exact Operating System is in use on your machine.

If not the aforementioned(malware related) my best advise would be to seek assistance in the appropriate Operating Systems part of the forum etc.
