Thanks for confirming the above deletions  :thumbsup:

There is a fair bit of work for you to do now so please take your time with it;

Next suggestion is to tidy up the remaining data on your HDD, please follow the directions provided below starting with Autoruns http://technet.micro...ernals/bb963902 select the Filter out Microsoft & Windows Results option;

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".

3: Click on the "Everything" tab

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.

6: Attach to your next reply.

Autoruns Tutorial

2nd: Download and run TFC from http://www.geekstogo...er-by-oldtimer/ the computer should automatically re-boot on completion but if not do it manually.

3rd: Defrag your HDD http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/  a tidy drive is a faster drive, please note that I am not suggesting that you use any other product or service at the link.

To speed up your boot times find any unnecessary programs linked to start up "how to" below;

START -> RUN

type MSCONFIG in the RUN box

then click OK

Click on the start-up TAB

Look at each line that has a check in the box, these are start-up items, with the exception of Windows programs and your AV software uncheck the ones you do not want to run at start-up.

No need for the OTL log thanks as they are only used by the staff on the malware forums  :thumbsup:

Try the TFC link again if you will and thanks for letting me know that the link needed updating  :thumbsup:

Can you save the AutoRuns log as a txt file please and attach it to your next reply.

Error message acknowledged.

To save an Autoruns log, simply go to File - Save. It can be output in plain text

Try Defraggler (free) from here

Yep thats the one  :thumbsup:

The Autoruns log is not too bad with only a couple of things that need either disabling or deleting, we will come back to them once we know where you are up to.

Autoruns = done.

TFC = done.

What about the defrag and MSCONFIG, have they both been done and if so how is the computer performing now.

The defrag can take hours so leave it running overnight if you like then do MSCONFIG and post an update.

Adding more Ram is the best way to speed up the computer but these steps will help.

If there is the slightest suspicion of malware being the cause of the below par performance I will not hesitate to refer you back to the experts on the Malware Removal Forums, I am neither qualified or permitted to help with anything that is malware related other than to redirect you, that said I see the following as the cause of the poor performance and keep in mind that this is work in progress;

1: Lack of free storage space and a badly fragmented HDD, we have addressed this and look at the amount of storage space that you have regained.

2: Insufficient Ram, you are aware of this and intend on upgrading so this has also been addressed, more Ram is still the most cost effective upgrade that can be done to speed up a computer.

3: The +12V rail on the PSU is shown to be too low in the Speccy report, this we will be checking after you have completed the following two steps.

Your +12V reading btw is 11.152V and the minimum that it should be so as to avoid issues is 11.400V, this will slow down the speed of anything that relies on it such as the CPU and HDD etc, see attached PSU tolerance table below.

For the internet connection;

1.Press the Windows key then type in cmd (do not press enter)
2.In the search results that come up, right click “cmd” and run as administrator, when the screen flashes and asks for permission, accept it.
3.In the command prompt type in ipconfig /flushdns (or right click and paste it to the command prompt) then press Enter.

To check the HDD and the data on it etc;

Go to Start and then to Run

Type in Chkdsk /r Note the space between k and /
Click Enter ...It will probably ask if you want to do this on the next reboot...click Y

If the window doesn't shutdown on its own then reboot the system manually. On reboot the system will start the chkdsk operation
This one will take longer then chkdsk /f

Note... there are 5 stages...
It may appear to hang at a certain percent for an hour or more or even back up and go over the same area...this is normal...
DO NOT SHUT YOUR COMPUTER DOWN WHILE CHKDSK IS RUNNING OR YOU CAN HAVE SEVERE PROBLEMS
This can take several hours to complete.
When completed it will hopefully boot the system back into Windows.

Thanks to RonShaffer61 for the Chkdsk /r instructions  :thumbsup:

1. Go to Start and then type in cmd in the Run box.

2.In the search results that come up, right click “cmd and run as administrator, when the screen flashes and asks for permission, accept it.

3.In the command prompt type in ipconfig /flushdns (or right click and paste it to the command prompt) then press Enter.

As I said I am unable to comment on malware removal, please carry out the two tasks and post back with an update.
