About java, how to know if a program needed java to run properly or not ? Is it only for thos programs written in java ?

 

I have two more questions about Windows Repair tools.

 

I checked 'Unhide Non System Files'. What to do with these files ? What's next ?

 

I also checked 'Reset Registry Permissions'. Does it mean that my Registry is more vulnerable due to this reset permissions ?  Let me know more details, please.

Some legitimate non system files are hidden but so are some non system malicious files.  I guess this allows you see them and if necessary check them for validity.

Not at all. All it does is set them to default position. Some malware can set permissions to allow certain actions. You don't want that and this restores them to default. Some security programs do make legitimate changes and you may want to check that out although a reboot may be all that's needed for the security program to reset any changes they may have made. If a reboot doesn't do the job then I guess re-installation is the route to go.

Farbars Service Scanner shows Windows Update isn't set to Auto. You may have done this yourself. My last posts tells you how to change that to Auto if you wish.

Java allows you to see some sites material. I have it disabled on my computer and only enable it when I can't see something on a site. This very rarely happens. I use Firefox and on the rare occasion I can't see something I just use IE which almost always sees whatever it was. Otherwise I can enable Java just for a short time to see the site.

About Windows Update, it was set up to Automatic until one or two weeks ago. I have noticed that some updates can conflict and make some troubles.

 

About Java, I've just disabled on Firefox, thanks again.
