Hello G2G techs bigtrucks here, Hope all had a good weekend.

I have an issue with my lappy that even the cable guy couldn't figure out so Here I am . ;-) when ever I connect to the internet (Google being my home page & FF as my browser) CPU usage goes to 100% if you don't touch anything after it finishes opening it drops down. When I move the mouse it will jump back up. Changing pages, tabs or windows it jumps to 100%. I have issues with my cable(TV,Phone & internet) that the tech said may be voltage feedback from my home. I have to have the electric company run a test to see Where, what, &why to get that fixed hopefully. But in the mean time I would like to know (if anyone could give me a logical answer) why when I first open a window or when I move my mouse the CPU usage goes through the ceiling.

I've noticed that there are some programs/apps that are disabled in the services. Is that normal? and should they be removed or left a lone?
I found a program ReadyBoost that is related with Microsoft. When I checked on what it was It said it would only work with SD or Flash. Will it work with a portable hard drive as well?I thought if I can remove some files to my Portable it may help to speed my lappy up as it has been laggen lately.

Thank You in Advance
Regards

Just realized that while on here and typing it uses about 40-50% but when I logged into Facebook it went right to 100 and that's with out typing.  Didn't know if that would help.

Do you have the same problem if you use Internet Explorer or Chrome?

What Add-ons are you using with Firefox?

Try running Firefox with Add-ons disabled. From Firefox, click on Help then Run with Add-ons disabled.

Thanks for the quick reply Ztruker. Yes to the first question. All of them. Still the same with the add-ons disabled. What I don't get is why is it that after opening the window it drops except in Facebook. I haven't tried any other sights but I will.

Try booting to Safe Mode with Networking, see how it behaves.

Sorry haven't gotten back any sooner. I will try that. I have other issues but I think I may know what the issue is. It's just a matter of buying a new router and giving the cable their crappy rental router back. Had the tech tell me my home wasn't ground properly and that the voltage is going through the cable causing just the cablt box in the Front Room to go all pixely on me. The one in the bed room is fine.Plus the internet speed that I pay for, which is 30MPsdwnld,I'm only getting 10-15 on a really fantastic day(other wise it's 5-8)I just realized a few days ago that it didn't start until after my personal router died and I replaced it with theirs.

I'll get back to you as soon as I try the safe mode with the networking.

So I am in safe mode and it went to no more than 89 when I opened the window and no more then 75-80 when I logged into Facebook. What does this mean?

Just realized that the videos that were freezing and creeping along are now zooming right through their normal speed. Am I in trouble with my laptop? I sure hope not!

Sweet!  I'm not sure if my lappy has been compromised or it your sight has changed it's programs.  I know that when I posted last night I logged out. This afternoon I went to check if you had replied and when I clicked on my post title in the forum it opened and I was logged in. Mind you, I hadn't logged into your sight yet when this happened. So I logged out and tried to see if it would do it again but I had to log in that time in order to post . I posted and logged out. I just went to the forum and clicked on my post and once again when the post popped up in the window I was Again logged in. NO! I did not log myself in. Am I infected, losing it or have your programs/sight changed since last year? I'm a little concern that I may be infected as I ran my securities and  the Malware bytes (which was the first to run) found and cleaned a PUP in the Temp files. I thought maybe it got there when I ran my lappy in Safe Mode Network as you instructed me too.

Looks like it's time to reinstall Windows. If it's a butthurt, install some antivirus, look for malware.

Also try to manually update your browsers.

Thanks Lemurain. Seems it was a mere butt pinch then a hurt.     I have anti virus installed and use it. Not all programs catch all bugs all the time.I have other security programs as well. I choose what to update and when. Had issues in the pass with the auto update programs. We (godawg & I) are working on this right now in security forum . Thank you for your help. ;)
