I am working on a project for a University with mirroring devices. Basically, we want to allow a professor to use their computer or Ipad wirelessly and mirror to a projector so that they can present in a classroom or conference room and be able to move around. Unfortunately, the solution just cant be solved with an appletv. Our network security doesn't allow 2 wireless devices to mirror, so the apple tv has to be plugged in via ethernet. Our ethernet cables are on a different subnet (and thus have a different IP) than our wireless networks that our professors can connect tablets or computers to. The newest appletv update solves this for devices running iOS by sharing IP addresses over bluetooth, but there is still no solution for OSX devices. To further complicate the situation, I have installed AirServer on an Intel Nuc so that other tablets can also mirror over WiDi, and computers running windows can mirror over AirParrot. Are their any solutions to connect the devices wirelessly besides setting up additional private networks in each classroom for the streaming device (AppleTV or intel NUC) and various tablets and computers?
