If there is an option in the BIOS to restore the motherboards default settings please select it, save the settings, confirm that you accept the changes and exit, test the card slot, if no joy restart the notebook and test again.

 

If there is no option to restore the factory default settings in the BIOS then it can only be done by removing the MBs CMOS battery, this involves removing the keyboard to gain access to the battery so you may consider that it is not worth doing.

Resetting the MBs factory defaults does not affect the OS in any way, what it does is restore the hardware and the time and date back to day that the BIOS chip was activated, when the notebook is booted for the first time after the reset you need to go into the BIOS, reset the time and date, save and exit.

 

Can I take a look at the drivers that are presently installed first please, download and run DriverView from here, save the results as a Text file and then Copy/Paste them into your next reply for us.
