1. Does the paid version of Bitdefender AV remove programs without user discretion like the free version is well known to do?
2. How happy are you with the realtime protection of paid Bitdefender?
3. How happy are you with its proficiency in removing infections?
4. How much of a problem has it posed with false positive detections?
5. How much of an impact has it had on system performance? Does it go bezerk on CPU usage whenever you open your Downloads folder as Microsoft Security Essentials does?
6. How would you compare it to other anti-viruses you have had?
7. If you have had it, how would you describe your experience with the Bitdefender firewall?
8. How would you compare it to other firewalls you have had?
9. How do you rate Bitdefender's support?
I'd like to pose questions to users of Bitdefender paid anti-virus

I do not have Bitdefender on my system any more but will try to give my opinions / findings to your questions as best I can.
1) If you have the Auto-Pilot mode on, then yes BD will handle all malware decisions for you and remove programs it finds as malware.
2) It was very fast and smooth on my system.
3) It removed 'infections' very well but I am not the same as a test lab so I never had current "stubborn" malware installed.
4) FP were handled swiftly via their support channels. The program allowed the manual exclusion of files if you wanted.
5) Properly installed, BD Total Security (largest suite) had little or no impact on my system performance (and this is a 6~8 year old laptop, so not the fastest, most powerful machine around)
6) Neither better or worse. It did its job as advertised.
7) OK but again let it do its own work. Customizing did not seem to work well for me but others may find that different.
8) See above.
9) Their support is very good as far as Customer Service goes.
They have a very nice forum located here that would most likely answer most of your questions better. I am not making a recommendation for or against BitDefender; you will have to install and try their software on your system to see if you like it or not. If you are looking for suggestions for AV software, see here.

the only thing that i have to say about bit defender is that with my brothers system and mine when i had it installed that randomly we would experience BSODs, and it was a little to aggressive for my liking. but my top 3 av's that i like are Eset, Kaspersky, Bit Defender
