I have been trying in vain to re-install Nero Ultra  7.9.6 and keep getting the following pop-up message during the File Installation:

C:/Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NMPPluginBase.dll Error Code - 214702 4891.  Further down is the followiing: Access is Denied

Error  = 5

Facitlity = 7

I have since removed Nero using Revo Uninstaller

Did C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead get deleted as well? If not, delete it then try again.

No trace of Nero is indicated on Main Window for Revo Uninstaller so I tried to delete the Ahead folder under My Computer-Program Files>Common Files-Ahead but received this popup.  "Cannot delete MFC71.dll.  Access is denied.  Make sure disk is not full or write protected and file is not currently in use."

Boot to safe mode, login ad Administrator.

Delete:  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead

Should be okay there.

That didn't work either.  I got the same message "Cannot delete MFC71.dll.  Access is denied.  Make sure disk is not full or write protected and file is not currently in use."

Very strange. Install Unlocker and give it a try.

UPDATE: I downloaded Unlocker and managed to unlock MFC71.dll and then attempted to install Nero 7.9.6.0 one more time with the following pop-up three quarters of the way on the file installation:

"Unable to Register: C:\WINDOWS\system 32\ole32.dll

Acess Denied ERROR=5

facitlity = 7

I then un-installed Nero 7 with Revo Uninstaller

Yes, I think the ongoing problems you are addressing the the WTT Malware forum may be the cause. Once you have done the Repair Install then if you still have the problem, come back here once the malware thread is done.

I have finally got the "Repair Install" done today and subsequently tried to install Nero 7 Ultra with the following result bearing in mind that this was a fresh install with no Nero at all residing on my pc.

Unable to register c:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll.

Error Code = 2147024891

Error=5

Facitlity

Try registering the DLL manually, see if that works.

Open a Command Prompt.

Enter cd "C:\program files\common files\ahead\lib" and press Enter (include the double quotes as shown).

Type regsvr32 medialibrarynse.dll and press Enter.

If that works, then try the install again.
