I would like to know how to encrypt an external-drive that is connected to my router. I have it as a network drive on my laptop. I use it as one backup source. I would like to secure it so, if it gets in the wrong hands, no files could be salvaged. How is this possible?

That reply doesn't specifically help my situation. I couldn't find tutorial anywhere on how to encrypt a network drive.
