i am totally at wits end been working on this for over 4 days. i thought it would be a simple thing to download and install an os from a flash drive but it isn't. okay i have tried almost everything that i have found on several forums, websites and manuals but no luck. i have also downloaded and installed over 20 tool to help with this. i started off with a write protected flash, i did not know it was. took care of that. made it bootable. tried several tools to put my windows 7 64b onto it finally get to where i think i can install and no devie drivers for cd/dvd, found those and finally now i do not have the subsystem needed to install the driver i am sorry for the length but i need help please

Most if not all CD/DVD drives nowadays are plug and play and so do not need drivers installing, this allows for an OS to be installed from an optical drive to a new HDD.

 

A new or a formatted HDD will not have a subsystem on it until an OS is installed.

 

Couple of questions if I may;

Where was the OS downloaded from.

Is this a reinstallation of Windows on the same hard drive or a fresh installation on an old or new hard drive.

Is the hard drive that you are attempting to install the OS onto detected in the BIOS, examples of this would be ST1000DM003 for a 1TB Seagate drive or WD10EZRX for a Western Digital device.

Is the boot sequence set to USB device first and the target hard drive second.

If this is an older computer was the Windows 7 upgrade advisor tool run first to ensure compatibility.

 

Please provide information about your computer, this includes is it a notebook or desktop, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if it is a brand name provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number of the motherboard, providing these details will enable us to better assist you.

thank you, but after over 4 days on this i have given and trying a different path i appreciate your time tho. so i suppose this discussion can be closed...
