I just read an internet article from Forbes that says Microsoft will stop supporting 8.1.  There will be an update and service pack issued on May 13.  I just bought a new computer with 8.1 on it, so can you tell me just what this means?

Will they be issuing a patch or service pack that will roll back all 8.1 users to Windows 8?  Way to go Microsoft!!

My reading is that there will be no new security patches for 8.1 unless update 1 has been installed

Do you know just what this update 1 is?  Does it roll 8.1 back to version 8?

It is a cumulative update and is available from windows update. Several other updates are required before it will be offered
