Time to get new desktop & looking at a refurbished PC with dual core processor; 4 GB RAM; ~ 400 GB Hard Drive; Windows 7. Some machines have a 1.80 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor  & I was wondering if that would be adequate to handle the following uses : videos, photo stuff, Micro. Office, Skype, Pandora & various Chrome apps while multi-tasking etc. or should I try to get something faster. Problem is a limited budget... Thanks for your help

Intel core 2 duos are solid processors. They make great refurbs. If the machine starts seeming slow, you can still replace the hard drive with a SSD to get better performance. You can use www.cpubenchmark.net to compare the different core 2 processors. You will need the full processor name though.
