Bought a wireless repeater because my room is so far from the wireless router I have. That and my 'room' is in fact a site-office in the backyard, so far as I know, those fancy Ethernet-over-Power solutions won't work for me. Dunno, would explain the fact I never could get them working when I had some.

In any case, my problem is thus:

If I connect my PS3 directly to my wireless router, it gets a 60% connection at best, BUT it's NAT Type 2. Which is fine enough for online play.

If I connect via my Wireless Repeater however -it even has an ethernet port, so I've been using that- it gets NAT 3. So even though the connection is heaps better, that's not much good if I get into GTA Online and it chucks me in sessions all alone because of my NAT.

I can't figure out how to change the NAT on the repeater itself. I see no such option anywhere. Would it have another obscure name? Or is using a wireless repeater always gonna have an issue like this? Halp~

Wireless Router: Belkin N300
Wireless Repeater: Sanoxy (no-name brand, cheap, easy to setup sorta thing) http://sanoxy.com/product/wap-300/ Basically it's that, but without the brand name. It's a common product, name or otherwise.

So yeah, help. Sure would like a better connection for my PS3, and one which doesn't hinder my gaming online.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the hardware you have but is the Sanoxy Repeater in Bridge mode?

Thanks for reply~ It's indeed in Bridge mode.

But I believe I solved this issue earlier today. Despite most guides saying to disable it, enabling UPnP on the PS3 gives me a solid Type 2 NAT. So I guess that's what I needed! As such, keep getting placed in nice, healthy GTA Online sessions. So that suits me.

Good, most likely a firewall problem...
