This problem started a few days ago, I noticed it when I touched the sides of the monitor where the frame is. When I did this, the display went strange, there appeared lines and the display seemed to fade so I immediately left it alone until today when I sneezed and wiped the screen, I literally swiped once and then the screen started flickering and I got those lines again and it progressively worse without me even touching it and now I can't see anything, the display has gone a sort of grey and black gradient.

I'm not sure what's happened, can anyone tell me what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Hello Kalo93

The screen itself may have gone but other possible causes may include a damaged or loose video cable and/or a bad inverter or backlight.

Is the notebook covered by any warranty.

What is the brand and full model name or number of the notebook.

Can you try connecting the notebook to an external screen to see if the display is ok there, you may need to toggle between displays by pressing Fn + one of the F1 to F12 keys (often F4 or F5) or a single function key that has an image of a monitor etched on it.
