Thanks for getting back to me I know your very busy I've had some problems with Rbot virus, and I havent been able to remove it completly I think. also I recieved an e-mail from yourself and was unable to follow the link I think this is part of the problem and I've had problems with my anti virus program. Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

Download and install CleanUp! Here

Download a free 14 day trial of ewido from the link below. Install it and start it up. Follow the prompts to upgrade it, then close it down.

Set PC to show hidden files (click link if you do not know how)LINK

Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Now run Ewido. click on the Scanner button, Select drives if you have more than one and then start.

grab a cup of coffee, sandwiches, book as this may take some time. Once the first problem is detected ensure you tick the box for all (bottom left) and allow it to continue.

At the end of the scan, it may ask if you would like to delete anything found in archive or zipped files, OK that request, then click on save report. SAVE to the default location, it will then generate a text file. Copy that to post in this thread.

Now scan with HJT and check the following entries if they are there. Some may have been removed by earlier procedures.

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click FIX CHECKED.

now using windows explorer locate the following files/folders and delete them.

Now run CleanUp!. Click CleanUp and allow it to delete all the temporary files.Reboot your computer into normal windows.

Reboot pc normally,

Rescan with HJT and post This log along with the results from ActiveScan and ewido.

Thanks for all the advice you've given me. I've installed ewido and run the test. It found 122 infected files and quarintined them. I did save to default but have not been able to locate it since? I also ran clean up.
I have tried to run the active scan but for some reason I'm not able to.
With the hijack this I've managed to delete 8 of the 10 things you asked me to. not able to locate the 2 exe programs to delete them.
I'm still not able to open regedit, and would be grateful for any help you could give.

Please find C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedt32.exe and copy it to your desktop or anywhere else where you can easily find it. Then rename it to regedit.com and drop it back in the System32 folder. If it asks to replace a file that is already present click Yes.

Does that give you regedit back?

For kaspersky for company name type anything you like.

Thanks once again, Ive run both virus checkers and both have come back clear which is great news.
I have followed your advice, and I'm not sure if it's me or the computer but I still can't open regedit.
Do I need to be able to open it?

Try this

Copy C:\windows\system32\regedt32.exe to C:\WINDOWS\ and rename it to regedit.exe

Does that work?
