Hi , thanks for helping out with this problem. I have been searching for many hours!

This is a Windows 7 Home premium Notebook.  I use Google as my Search engine and G mail. I also use Google Earth. I have IE11, not Google Chrome.

After deleting Temp files , %temp% , I see that my Google tasks have failed.  In Services, I have tried to manually start gupdate and gupdatem

but a box pops up saying the files cannot be found. Error 2.

The tasks are running on and on to no avail. I have looked everywhere to see how to get back the Google update files I must have deleted.

There is not 1 answer out there.

Also it seems they may be used for G Chrome.

My concern is that the services say that without updates Google will have "Security Vulnerabilities" and loose features and function.

I have looked all through Google and the net. Could you please help out as I am at a loss trying to restore these files.

                                                                                                                                          Many thanks, athome34

Edit: It is at a time when my system restore has 3 dates but all have  several  intense fixes I would undo.
