I have a Dell laptop that had to have a new hard drive placed in it last year. Last week, my computer would shut itself off, as though it has a dead battery, even though the battery is fully charged and it's plugged in. These past two days, however, it's been the opposite. First off, yesterday, it seemed to run sluggishly, so I went to run a virus scan (I have AVG and do not wish to change that fact), only, when I clicked on AVG all it shows was WebScanner. No AVG antivirus was to be found, I had to completely re-download my antivirus protection. Then, I noticed the shutdown problem when I got ready to leave for work. I do not like leaving the computer on at night or when I am gone, so I always shut it down. Now, whenever I go to shutdown, it will show it is shutting down and show a black screen, then, it will start rebooting itself. I have tried "sleep" and "hibernate" as well and it does the same thing. I can tell it to do one of the above options then as soon as it goes black screen, quickly close it up to keep it from coming back on again. Then, the next time I go to get on it, the computer shows that is was shut down improperly and asks if I want to open in secure or normal mode. What could be wrong? How do I correct this?

I suggest that you download CCLEANER then run it, hit the option's button then settings,put a tick next to Run Ccleaner when the computer starts.
Also when in options go to advanced tab and put a tick next to close program after cleaning.
This will automate the temporary file removal on your machine and keep it speedy.
Disable all of the start ups on the machine except your antivirus.
To disable hit the tools button then the start up button,then disable
