My computer has been running slow the past weeks, so I scanned it for spyware and also installed Advanced System Care. It found some malware and I also cleaned the registry with it. However the uninstaller which comes with ASC seems to have done a mess. It blocked during uninstall of some programs and now I can't install certain new programs, as it says Windows Uninstaller is corrupted. Also it installed 6/12 windows updates, the rest give errors. The restore points are not working, I get an error like "80070002" the system couldn't be restored.

I scanned the computer with Avira, MalwareBytes, Superantispyware and it looks clean.

Please help, how can I fix Windows Installer?

Hello Kristina,

Sorry to say that yours is not an unfamiliar situation after using one of these so called system optimisers/registry tweakers, only the security experts over on the malware forums can ensure that your computer is free of malware and so can I ask you to refer to the malware redirection steps below please;

I suspect that you have some malware on your computer causing issues that we are not able to solve through means we can use here in the Tech Forums. I suggest you read the 'Start Here' topic found here. With these self-help tools you have a high chance of fixing the problems on your own. If you are still having problems after following Step 3 of the guide, continue with Step 4 and 5 and post in the Malware Forum. If you are unable to run any programs, Please create a topic stating what you have tried so far and that you are unable to run any programs. Also, Please do NOT post the logs in this thread.

If you are still having issues after the malware expert gives you a clean bill of health, Please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
