Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help me with something....

A recruitment agency has asked me to take an online Excel and Word test.

The problem is that although my PC software meets the requirements suggested by the provider, it doesn't run the programme. When I click the 'begin' button a new window pops up, which would enable an icon on the taskbar, If everything worked well, I would have been able to click on the icon and launch the test, but it doesn't! The icon does not even appear on the taskbar.

I have tried everything: block pop-ups, disable firewall and antivirus, re-install the Flash Adobe and Java software...still doesn't work. Any ideas?

My PC runs with Windows 8.

Thank you for your help!

O.k., little confused by this, this is only running from your browser? Do you have to install anything on your PC, does it ask to install activeX or anything else ?

This Program as your stating requires Java and Adobe Flash to be able to run ? Then make sure Java and Adobe Flash are up to date.

Which Browser are you using, did you try another if you have one ?

You have used this before on another operating system, like Windows 7 and it did work ?

Windows 8 or 8.1 usually doesn't put icons on the taskbar and the notification area, only when it is a running program or if you pin it to the taskbar.

Blocking pop-ups may block what it may be trying to do.

Have you tried asking the recruitment agency ?
