I was wondering if anyone knew of a "secure online storage" site that I could use while I"m fixing my sister's computer. She didn't leave me any empty DVD's to burn or a jump drive to save all of her programs, files, etc.

I'm not sure what all she did to this machine but do know that whatever happened all the programs are missing from the start menu, including any systems programs such as remote assistance, drive information, and System restore.

I'm thinking the easiest way to solve the problem is just backing up her drive and repair it using the "ghost" install drive with windows on it .

Again another computer that came with everthing "EXCEPT" the original Windows 7 dvd, all it has is the code for Windows on the back of the machine.

Have you considered Google Drive or Dropbox? Both of those are suffice for the job in my opinion.

If you are looking for secure cloud storage, then I would suggest SpiderOak. Unless sensitive files are stored on the PC, I recommend that most people upload some of their data to the cloud. I keep simple home project spreadsheets, pictures, etc on the cloud. This will help in the event of hard disk failure, etc.

 

Have you considered reviewing documents and later requesting for help in the Malware Removal forum? If the issue is caused by Malware, then this may be a good option for you. Might even save some stress from essentially starting over.
