on restart, I can not get into safe mode...just keeps switching between the 2 screens...and if I just turn it on with the power button, it will go right into vista like it is suppose to...

My issue only happens on restart, and it limits what I have access to...and only stops if I hold the power button and shut it down...

Since you can hard reboot it seems to me it is a hardware issue.

Can you go back tot he list Driver Max gave and get the LPC and The 4th driver in the list for me downloaded and installed.

I would normally say this is a driver issue but by chance do you have another monitor you can try to see if it still has the same issue?

I hook it up to my Tv with the vga cable and get the same result...I don't think its a hardware issue cause I have more then 1 tower that does this, I am not sure that it is a driver issue either, cause everything thing works great after a fresh install, until I add something to the system...the first time I had a restart issue I loaded the drive max program that you said to install...Installed the program ran the scan, but did not install any drivers, and just like that, had the restart issue, before that, could restart over and over again...My question to you is it possible, that it could be something with my vista disk?

Possibly and is the Vista disk used on multiple systems?

Did the issue start when you installed Vista on the systems?

Yes the disk is used on multiple systems...and yes the restart issue only happened on theses systems when I upgraded(format) them from windows xp original,  to the vista disk I have...

That's what makes me think it could be the Vista disk...And if it is, is there any way for fixing an issue like that...

I believe you have found the common denominator. You can't use the same serial number on all the systems for one problem. The second is if all the systems were even capable of being upgraded to Vista with the existing hardware which may be another issue.

The last issue which I believe is more a possibility is that the disk is corrupted in some way since it happens with every system it is installed on.

I have a activator that gives each computer there own individual serial number...I have come across the issue before with some of my systems not being able to upgrade, but usually l it will state that when trying to load the disk...And as for corrupt, that very well could be possible, as I have tried the different operating systems on vista on the disk, and still same issue different towers...

Now my question would be is there a way I can fix this? I am only a self taught tech(?) so everything I know is trial and error so to speak, been doing this tho for about 2 years and this is the first time I have come across anything like this/ I have a windows 7 disk that has done the same thing on one of theses towers(so could it be a possible activator issue)... thanks

What do you mean by activator?

I have only seen that term in reference to a keygen type program.

When I run the activator program, it generates a key for the vista disk on that tower, and then activates it as genuine...

OK that also may be part of the problem since the key is not authentic which would mean the installation is not legal either.
