I did a recovery on the samsung R540. Now I cannot get the internet. I did download the drivers at samsung but I have had no luck as I still cannot connect. It just wants me to use broadband or dial up but I need wireless. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It is a windows 7. The light for the wireless shows on but when I try to connect it says there are no networks available.

An example guide for Windows 7 here

It is basically the same as what jd directed you to but for Windows 7 as opposed to XP.

Let us know if this gets you connected.

NB: It sometimes helps if you restart your wireless router first.

After I did everything it still says No connections are available. I restarted  my router also. Maybe I am not getting the right drivers. Do you think I should try another recovery. Maybe something was missed.

Have you checked that the wireless device is enabled in the BIOS.

Do you have a wireless signal on your taskbar - bottom right, if yes when you right click on it do you see the Open Networking and Sharing Centre option, if yes, when you click on it does it take you to a page like mine which I have attached below;

Not too familiar with wireless setup, my router is hooked up through ethernet, but has the capabilities of wireless.

True need to have the KEY and password to set it up i know.

You may have more knowledge on this Phill,ty

When I right click it says n connections are available. I will do a complete restore and will let you know what happens. I see that my cousin tried to do a recovery and there are 2 windows 7 on the computer. Maybe a complete restore might fix it. As soon as I get that done I will get back to you. I don't want to waste your time. If this works then I will ask how to get rid of the other windows 7 that is showing up. Thanks

I did a complete restore and it worked perfectly. The recovery only did a partial fix. Thank you so much for your help and the time you took to help me. It looks like it eliminated the other windows seven also.

Good to hear, never mentioned you had 2 operating system on this Computer.

If it is only a partial fix and you still need help this post will be open unless you say you are completely resolved, it's always good to share how it was resolved for others who read your topic with a similiar issue.

Your Welcome you are never wasting our time, pleased to help you anyway we can.
