I'm sorry the windows installation , Windows 7, it started and went half way through then said it couldnt finish because files were missing.

there is no recovery partition unfortunately. the D: is empty. I changed boot sequence to CD then Harddrive.

The disk that you have can be used for either a custom install which will allow you to keep your present personal data or a fresh installation which will automatically format the HDD upon installation, which option did you try that failed.
