Again and again, I tell my employees they can't use the Internet for personal purpose at work or even on a break. The computers in the office are are networked and one little virus could hurt us badly! Anyway, they know how to delete the history and so they have done that. The proof is not there because of the deleted history. Is there any program I can install to monitor them? I have head that parents use that kind of software for parental purpose. Please help! Thanks!

Kerio WinRoute, or a server log of the computer/server that controls your outgoing traffic

It sounds like you have a small business organization without an IT department or people with the skills to configure and manage the network. Never let the employees have admin privilege to the pc. As an administrator, you can restrict what they can do on the pc, such as no internet access (only intranet), or inability to delete history. However, if you are not good at computer, the easiest way is to download employee monitoring software. My sister and husband monitor all usage by using Micro keylogger. It monitors everything, from emails to what they write in the email to the passwords they use.

Hey, that does violate their workers' privacy! if you make people sit for 8 hours at some place you cannot prevent them from communicating with their friends and relatives. And that might involve some sensitive stuff

Where I work, we inform employees, in writing, that they are not allowed to use company computers for personal use.  We tell them up front that they may be monitored.

If they choose to use the company computers for personal use after that, they assume the risk and take responsibility for any "problems" they cause.

Solid advice, if you can't do this yourself, you should consider hiring a local consultant to come in and do it for you.  Without this step

I suggest OpenDNS also, to control which type of websites the computers can visit.

I don't think monitoring employee is the only way, but it is essential for employers to know and control the behavior of employees during the working time. Employee monitoring software is not to control and monitor employees, but to make employees work more efficiently.
