Internet connection slow on one computer

My wife's Lenovo laptop has a download speed of 0.23Mpbs.

The other devices run at around 20.00Mbps

i have reset the PC as it was showing an 0xc000021 error andrun a Malwarebytes scan which detected 103 objects to quarantine.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Click Here.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTListIt log in that forum.

Hi again.

 

I went to malware forum.

 

Machiavelli advised me it was not a malware problem and to come back here.

 

I have re-installed factory default but the problem is still there in fact worse as I cannot connect at all at the moment.

it is intermittent

Hit the start button and type services.msc then scroll down to the computer browser service.
Right click and stop the service.
Right click again and select properties.
Change the start up type to disabled
Hit apply ok.

Repeat the same for the iphelper service.

 

 

Open your device manager hit the start button then right click on computer then select properties then select device manager.

In device manager, click the View menu and select Show hidden devices

Then hit view again and select devices by connection.



Then scroll down right click and uninstall the drivers listed below,dont worry these will be reinstalled upon reboot by windows.


Net BT

Reboot at the prompt to do so....

 

Now open elevated command windows 8

Copy and paste the content of the code box, one at a time hitting enter after each.

 

   
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
 
Now reboot your machine and test the issue.

Skip the netbt uninstall for now and do the other steps.

Done this. Looks promising. Now have connection speed of 7Mbps.

Other devices still getting 16Mbps
