I have this old program which I need to be able to run for my research.

It is called "Crazy for Ragtime", it is from 1996, and it keeps giving me the "hi-res timer error, please restart windows" when I try to run it. I installed it on my WinXP, but it just does not run.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Have you tried to change the resolution of your video display to 640x480?  This is what the program wants.  Also, can you change the compatibility mode to Windows 3.1 (right click on the exe of the program and select Properties, then select Compatibility )?

Note: while in the Compatibility settings see if there are any display / resolution settings there.

Compatibilitymodesettings_zpsbe09420c.jp  This is from a Win7 machine but WinXP should have something similar.
