When I copy files to our server, the modified date goes back by 8 years (to 2006)

Examples:

File copied from local PC, starts with modified date: 2 June 2014 12:13 changes to 2 June 2006 01:23

File copied from local PC, starts with modified date: 24 May 2014 21:35 changes to 24 May 2006 02:16

File copied from local PC, starts with modified date: 3 Feb 2014 08:37 changes to 2 Feb 2006 22:48

-always 2922 day

It does not always happen, probably about 5%-10% of the files. It happens to Excel, Powerpoint, .txt and other files. The created date also goes back 8 years.

Any ideas how this is happening?

I am running windows 7 Pro service pack 1
