Windows boot manager laptop will not boot up

computer was updating something and when it started to boot up it keep going to the windows boot manager screen.  Windows failed to start  Status: 0xc000000f  I do not have the original windows cd.  how do I get passed this screen and get the computer to boot up.

What is your Windows?

 

If you have Windows 7 use a System Repair Disk and let the system try to fix itself by doing a System Repair.

If you have Windows 7 use a System Repair Disk and let the system try to fix itself by doing a System Repair.

I do not have the original disks.  The laptop was a gift to my son and he did not get any of the original disks

I have windows 7 Compaq CQ56 laptop

That is the usual the manufacture doesn't provide the installation disk but the machine will have an hidden partition used to restore the system.

Please check carefully the link I post it have all that you need to try fixing the problem...
