I am trying to install Windows 7 on a Pavilion a6500f desktop. It hangs up while installing the os and I think the video driver is corupt. I wiped the hd and ran tests on it as well as the 2gb ram...all seems good. I would like to update the bios and am wondering if I can download the bios from HP to my laptop on a usb flash drive and update it somehow to the desktop. I am not sure how to do this. Any help will be appreciated.
How can I perform a bios update on HP without OS installed

Hello geno
While you're waiting for an official Geek Helper to assist you with your issue, allow me to asks you a couple of questions to get more information regarding that issue.
From what media device are you trying to install Windows 7 on your laptop ? A USB Flash Drive, a DVD ? If so, is the DVD with Windows 7 an official Windows 7 DVD from Microsoft or HP ? At what installation exactly is it hanging up ? Are you trying to install Windows 7 32 or 64-bits ?
