Hello Geeks!

I wonder if someone could decipher some graphics speak for me please?

For years, I wanted the PC game "The longest Journey" but always had a mediocre laptop, so didn't even entertain that it might run a PC game. However, now I have bought a brand new super dooper latop and the game is 14yrs old... so I'm thinking maybe it would now run OK? I'm mostly worried about the graphics card being too lame. The game specs are this:

CPU Type: Pentium

CPU Speed in MHz: 166MHz

RAM: 32MB

Hard Drive Space: 300MB

Sound Card: Windows Compatible

CD Drive Speed: 4X

Video Card: 16-bit

Video RAM in MB: 2MB

Graphics Type: SVGA

Graphics Resolution(s): 640X480

My laptop specs are this:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 8.1

Version 6.3.9600 Build 9600

Processor Intel® Core™ i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2501 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

BIOS Version/Date Insyde Corp. 6.00, 31/08/2012

SMBIOS Version 2.7

Embedded Controller Version 6.00

BaseBoard Manufacturer Intel

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

Total Physical Memory 7.89 GB

Available Physical Memory 5.06 GB

Total Virtual Memory 9.14 GB

Available Virtual Memory 6.43 GB

Display Adapters Intel® HD Graphics 4000

Apologies for all of the crap that probably isn't relevant! But anything that I wasn't sure what it was, I left in the list. I'm hoping someone can understand it better than me and put it into plain English please?

Thank you!

You have around 100x time the required specs to run this game, it will run just fine buddy :)
Now the question is, is this game compatible with Windows 8/8.1 ?

Thanks Aura! Yes, it runs fine on my Windows 8.1 (except for the in-game pop-up for saving or quitting the game, that's just blank. But exiting through task manager seems to work OK)
