Ok. So since NVidia just announced the 980 and 970. I thought i'd make some revisions to my build.

How does this look? Will probably add 980.

Hello again Tajition,

That is a great spec build with the exception of (call me a nag if you like  :D ) the aftermarket cooler, you are paying almost $400 for a CPU that will effectively have no warranty the minute you do not use the HS and cooling fan supplied with it, you would be far better (and safer) to complete the build using the stock cooler and seeing how it goes, if all is well you have saved yourself $115 for the price of the H105 cooler and kept your warranty in order**

** Not being negative just making sure that you consider potential pitfalls, any item of hardware can arrive DOA, if this was to happen with your CPU and you have used a third party cooler in the build instead of the one supplied you will have already voided your warranty and have no way of proving that the CPU was DOA, Intel and AMD techs can tell when a CPU has not been correctly installed btw.

your a nag. :P

even tho it is a valid point, personally i really wouldn't worry about any warranty issues with using after market coolers.

i've never yet had a problem returning a faulty cpu (not that i've had many.) and i certainly would never use stock coolers for my own pc's.

nice build by the way.

i'm really jealous, my own i7 socket 1566 system is getting old now, even tho it still runs great and does everything i need.

The i7 5XXX series actually doesnt come with a stock cooler it seems. All the CPUs are K/X marked and are meant to be overclocked. Also Intel started selling 1 time - CPU overclock protection for their K marked CPUs. http://click.intel.com/tuningplan/

Thanks for the heads up on that Tajition

AMD have done the same with their top end CPUs for a while now, not sure about them offering the OCing warranty yet but it has been mentioned, Intel have done so since circa 2012 and while I don`t suggest extreme OCing I have often provided the following link to those that do, see here as an asides if you use the Auto OC feature you should not need any other warranty.
