I have an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS. I'm trying to add more ram to be able to play watch dogs. This has two RAM slots and I have two 4GB cards that each work on their own but when both are installed and used together nothing appears on the monitor. They're both G. Skill ripjaws 4GB cards and the mobo has an AMD graphics card and i3 processor. What type of ram should I use so I'll be able to have 8GB to be able to play Watch Dogs?

:welcome:   JesusFish

The ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 specs here show that the MB has four memory slots and will handle up to 32GB of Ram so not sure why you say the MB only has two memory slots.

Are the two sticks of Ram a matching pair, what are the specs of the Ram, provide a link if you can.

Are you using the two blue coloured memory slots on the MB

No problem  :thumbsup:

In your OP you have said that you have 2 X 4GB sticks but one of your links shows 2 X 2GB modules, neither are on the MBs memory QVL and the only 2 X 4GB 1600MHz modules that have been tested and passed are 1.65V whereas your modules are 1.5V, if you confirm that you do have 2 X 4GB modules you should try increasing the DRam voltage in the BIOS to 1.65V to see if that resolves the issue.

Ram that is on the MBs QVL here

My canned text below regarding the purchase of Ram;

For the best and most stable performance you should where possible purchase a CPU and Ram that have been tested and approved by the motherboard manufacturer, this is referred to as the QVL ( qualified vendors list ) understand though that there are too many products released for them all to be tested so other hardware will be compatible but not proven to be.
