Anyone who wants to help can help guys it's all good, if I got confused i'd say so lol but anyways I think I have a rather big update:  My computer has got to the point that after a while of use a slight bump to my comp or if I accidentally hit my desk my comp would sometimes make my comp restart.  Anyways I got a little pissed so I decided to look at my psu, and apparently my case/psu combination make it so my psu's fan is on the bottom of my case, not on the back, so basically my psu fan has always been suffocated.  I'm still going to get my psu and gpu tested but this may very well have been the culprit, I mean Phill you said the buzzing sound may have been from my psu overheating.

I'm actually getting really interested in this now, I think there's some deeper problem with my comp honestly because it's done the bump-and-restart thing on and off for a while, but as of now it's at the point where if I put just a little too much pressure (very slight pressure at that) on the case near where the power/restart buttons are it will cause an instant restart.  I think i'm going to get my whole computer checked out instead of just my psu and gpu, but before that i'm going to reinstall my mb to see if that won't fix the bump-restart problem.  I've never installed a motherboard before, any tips/guides?  I'm thinking there may very well be something wrong with the installation since I got my comp from ibuypower, so there could be human error -- or maybe a short in the restart button.

 

Update - I decided to dick around in my comp, I took a look at the power/restart module, changed my ram into diff slots, turned my comp on and smacked the 'restart' area near the power switch, nothing, not even with a decent amount of force.  So there has to be a correlation to my comp running for some time and the bump-and-restart thing my comp has going.  I know this is separate from the game crashing thing because I would even try to instigate the bump-crash while having payday running and it didn't restart directly because of it.

 

Update 2 - Apparently something was wrong and me taking a look at the power button module fixed it, it's gone now lol

The above btw could also have been responsible for producing the noise that you heard (a short circuit crackle etc) any repetition of the noise since the case switches were checked.

 

Back to the PSU, bottom mounted PSUs should have the fan facing inwards unless there is a dust filter and vent directly below the cooling fan, the disadvantages of this are 1: for the cooling to be efficient the case needs to be elevated for a proper airflow and 2: the fan will be sucking in dust that occurs naturally in any household environment, the latter problem will be aggravated if there are family pets such as cats and dogs present.

 

Having the cooling fan facing inwards helps with keeping the temps inside the case down by drawing the heat away from hardware such as the GPU, CPU cooler and associated MB chips such as the Northbridge.

 

The CX 600M is a very good PSU but it depends on whether it is compatible with your case as to whether you should purchase it, if the case has a square cut out of it and 4 mounting points it is most likely suitable, if the case has a grill and small cut out for the PSUs on/off switch then you must make sure that any potential PSU will fit so that the on/off switch fits into the opening correctly and that any cooling fan other than the PSUs rear exhaust fan is facing inwards towards your internal hardware, this off course unless your case has bottom dust filters and case vent, please see my canned text below;

 

Before purchasing a new PSU it is advisable that you measure the dimensions of the present PSU and ensure that the new PSU has the correct power connections for the MB, HDDs, optical drives, FDDs or add on cards such as a video card if one is fitted.

 

Quality brands include Antec, Corsair, OCZ and Seasonic.

Well this is strange, ever since I looked at my power module thing my computer is fine.  It's running noticeably hot but I mean I played around 1 1/2 hours of payday no problem.  I'll still get my psu and gpu tested just to make sure - probably this weekend, but honestly I think it's gone.
