The info I found relates to issues with W8 systems. All their recommendations are to rum movie maker in W7 or XP compatibility mode.

1. Locate Movie Maker by hitting Windows Logo in the keyboard then type Movie Maker.
2. Right-click Movie Maker, on the options below, click Open file location.
3. Right-click Photo Gallery and then click Properties.
4. Go to Compatibility tab.
5. Under Compatibility mode, tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: , click the dropdown below and then select Windows 7 or Windows XP.

1. Right-click on the Windows Movie Maker shortcut
2. Select "Properties"
3. Click "Compatibility" tab
4. Select Windows 7 compatibility
5. Done!

Where did you get Windows Movie Maker from, it's not part of Windows 8.

I found this: http://windows.micro...-maker-download, is that where you got it from? If not, maybe uninstall then download and install from this link?

Download from the link I provided then install it. Then if it doesn't work you should be able to uninstall it from Control Panel, Programs and Features.

Alright.
Can you go in the Start Menu and type in : dxdiag
Then press Enter, accept to verify if the 64-bits drivers are digitally signed, then take a screenshot of the dxdiag window and post it here please. I need the full model number from that.

I would like to make you update your graphic card drivers as I know that some applications requires Intel Graphic HD graphic card to have a certain drivers version in order to work. That was the case when I did a Factory Restore on my HP Pavilion G6 laptop with Intel HD 3000 graphics and I tried to use JavaFX with Netbeans. However, I'll need the exact model number, sorry to ask you that once again. The model number can be found behind your battery and will have the following form :

HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j003tx
So the model number will be 15-XXXXX. Can you do that ? :)
