Back in mid-April my computer suddenly shut off and I could not restart it. It would power on briefly--the fans ran but no beeps--and then it would power off under a minute. Usually i can resolve issues I have with PCs, but I could not for the life of me fix the problem this time after trying for a few days. Just kept getting the same power on/power off result. I gave up, put the computer aside and started using an older machine with Windows XP. (ugh!)
So earlier this morning, for some reason or other, after not even touching it for months, I decided to just plug the non-working machine in and try to power it on, not expecting much. But it came on! It has been working all day. I immediately set about running scans, finding/removing any malware, clearing junk, deleting unwanted programs, etc. I've been able to reboot successfully several times and there hasn't been the slightest indication that it could possibly just shut off again.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has had an experience like this. I've never heard of anyone having what seemed to be a serious problem like mine only to have it apparently resolve itself after a couple months. Maybe it needed a vacation. lol
I did use it a lot and left it on for extended periods of time. It couldn't have been overheating, because I left it off for hours initially and tried to power it to no avail. I guess I would just like to know if there's anything I should still be concerned about, and if anyone else has experienced anything like this.
Thanks,
Kyo
