I have a HP Pavilion computer, OS Windows 7 with a HP Officejet 6700 printer. I am unable to scan from the "all-in-one" printer to my computer. I can not uninstall the printer program and I'm unable to restore to an earlier date. Device Manager shows multiple entries (100 or so) of the printer. Can anyone help.

Hello, why are you unable to uninstall the printer program? Will it not remove or is it that you do not have the disk?

If it will not remove then consider using Revo Uninstaller Freeware Here is a good tutorial on the use of Revo Uninstaller.

Sometimes an uninstall then reboot of your computer will solve issues such as these.

Hi, it will not physically uninstall. I call HP tech help and they only made it worse. I'll try Revo and let you know how it turns out.

Revo uninstalled part of the program. The file folder and some of the other files are still there. I tried to uninstall those remaining files but Revo hung up and would not uninstall. Error - 2081883398: Failed to uninstall device with serial number:

Ok, for now try and remove the remaining files in safemode

I was able to delete some of the files but not all of them.

Error Message: Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed.

Also, I am unsure of some of the registry files it asked me to check to delete. Because my desktop is a HP, I did not want to delete any files I wasn't sure of.

Can you now try and reinstall the printer program and test the issue. If it does not work then post issue...

The program installed but it would not connect the printer over the wireless connection. Later on reboot, cannot install device driver...

Ok, now please remove the program once again with REVO.

The please reboot after, then look at the following location and see if there is a HP Officejet 6700 printer. folder.

Hit the start button.

Click on computer.

Local disk c:

Then program files or program files (x86)

If you find the folder then right click and delete it.

If you are unable to delete in normal mode then boot into safemode and remove.

Also at this point download and install the programs below, we will use them later.
(windows installer clean up tool.)

Lets also get some more info on your machine please.

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.txt under the file type option. in other words make sure it is a .txt file instead of .arn Attach the text in your next reply.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:

Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)

Click Go and post the result.

I had some problems deleting some of the printer programs, even in safe mode.
