Cursor not appearing in my outlook

Out of the blue, I have all tasks on the right hand side of my outlook screen flickering with red flags and the cursor will not appear anywhere to select anything at all. It will appear on the screen behind, but as soon as I attempt to place the cursor in outlook screen, it disappears. I need an urgent fix if anyone can help me???
