I keep randomly getting the Blue Screen of Death. It says BAD POOL HEADER 0x00000019. Can someone please help me. Attached is a Zip file of my minidump from BlueScreen View. I am running Windows 7 on an HP G62, with intel core i3

Could you see if there are any clues in your Reliability Monitor??

Type View Reliability Monitor in your search bar. Then see if any Apps are showing any errors.

 

When it comes to hidden gems in Windows, nothing beats the Reliability monitor tool, hidden behind a link inside of another tool that you don’t use either. Why Microsoft doesn’t shine more light on this really useful troubleshooting tool, we’ll never know.

Reliability Monitor tracks the history of your computer — any time an application crashes, hangs, or Windows gives you a blue screen of death. It also tracks other important events, like when software is installed, or Windows Updates loads a new patch.

It’s an extremely useful tool. And yes, it’s in Windows 7 and 8… and even 8.1. It might be in Vista, but who uses that anymore?

 

Imagine your computer has started flaking out and locking up for the last week, and you aren’t quite sure why. All you have to do is open up Reliability Monitor and check what happened to start the crashes in the first place. You can click on each day that has a crash, then go back in the list to before all the crashes started and figure out what was installed to make things break… and remove it from y0ur PC.

 

The above is a quote from a web site. I have been trying to get people to use this tool for a long time. So far I haven't had any success getting anyone interested, but I keep trying!!

It did not give me any clues. It is pretty similar to the file I attached before (mini dump of Blue Screen View) which shows why the blue screens have happened, I am just not technical enough to interpret it

Thanks for your reply! The Reliability Monitor did not show any Apps error??? Every time I have a App failure, it is recorded in Reliability monitor.

BSOD is either hardware or software. Sense you say you have checked HD and RAM. You could try a clean boot! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

Just because you have a mini dump file doesn't mean it will give you the reason your PC crashed. It only gives you clues. Would be nice if a mini dump had the exact reason for the crash.

It shows many errors, I Just don't know how to interpret them. Here is a screen shot and my most recent dump files. I also heard of a site that analyzed dump files (http://www.osronline.com/) and this is what i got - http://pastebin.com/ExaerMrs

Hello! Thanks for the screen shot!! I'm trying to learn how to use this windows tool. I'm interested in the top error. That's applications failures. I see Google failed. What other Apps failed. See if there's a pattern. Click on each day. Also you can scroll back in time by clicking on left error. Interested if you can go back to when the errors weren't occurring. If they are all Google failures, then we have a pattern.

I really appreciate you helping me learn with your replies. I don't seem to be able to get any Geeks interested in this tool. I think it's a great tool.

It can tell you a lot about what's going on with your computer.

Software failures

If Reliability Monitor reports consistent application failures, Windows failures, or software installation or removal failures, you may need to update the failing application or components of the operating system. Use the Windows Update control panel and the Problem Reports and Solutions control panel to search for application updates that may resolve your problems.

If the failing application is not a Microsoft product, and a solution does not exist in the Problem Reports and Solutions control panel, try searching the application manufacturer's web site for software updates.

Hardware failures

If Reliability Monitor reports consistent hardware failures, your computer may have serious technical problems that cannot be resolved by a software update. Contact the manufacturer of the hardware device for additional troubleshooting steps and information.

Putting it all together

In addition to identifying problems with individual applications and hardware components, Reliability Monitor's graph lets you see, at a glance, whether significant changes in stability began at the same time. Since you can see all of the activity on a single date in one report, you can make informed decisions about how to troubleshoot. For example, if frequent application failures are reported beginning on the same date that memory failures appear in the Hardware section, you can replace the faulty memory as a first step. If the application failures stop, they may have been a result of problems accessing the memory. If application failures continue, repairing their installations would be the next step.
