I picked up a USB wireless adapter from AT&T when they installed my internet service this week. I ran the included disk, it said it installed the driver, then asked my to plug in the device. I plugged the device in, then clicked okay and a few moments later, it asked again. It continued to cycle this way.

Restarted my computer and tried again. Continued.

Tried the device and software on another computer: the device worked fine.

Tried to hardwire my computer to the internet, and found that my other network adapters all have code 31 issues.

I think it is a registry error, but that's as far as I can get. Any help is appreciated.

Can I ask what OS you are using as in XP, Vista, Windows 7/8 or 8.1 etc.

Please try the following for us if you can;

While the computer is turned off remove the device from the USB port then power up the computer.

Uninstall the software that you have installed for the device.

Go into the Device Manager and uninstall any network devices and their drivers.

Restart the computer and allow Windows to install any generic network drivers that it may suggest for items such as the ethernet port.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and see what if any options are available.

Last but not least, again restart the computer in Safe Mode but this time without Networking, install the software from your disk, follow any on screen messages and only connect the USB device when/if prompted to do so.

Restart the computer and test.

Good luck and let us know how it goes or if you have any questions.
