Hi,

 

I got a question for the "Nuke your hard disk"

 

Do I run my MB with the HDD, meaning I remove the power for the SSD and then follow the steps for "nuke your hard disk"?

You can have both the SSD and the HDD connected to the MB, if it is easier you can can format the HDD from within Windows, go to Devices and drives, right click on the HDD then choose the format option, you must confirm that the drive is the correct one and this can be done by checking the storage capacity as in your HDD will show as having nearly 750GB free, don't forget to save any important documents or music first.

As long as you have backed up your data you simply click Start and then confirm the format when asked to by an onscreen message.

I was referring to this, to see what programs are installed on what device, C: Drive is the SSD:

 

 

I can't seem to install Chrome on the HDD, it just installs automatically.

Can you do the following and post a screenshot of the results for us, don't worry about Google for the minute but if you want it as your default browser you should disable IE11.2.

 

1.        Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.

2.        Click on the System and Security link.

Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small iconsview of Control Panel, you won't see this link so just click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.

3.        In the System and Security window, click on theAdministrative Tools heading located near the bottom of the window.

4.        In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.

5.        When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left side of the window, located under Storage.

After a brief loading period, Disk Management should now appear on the right side of the Computer Management window.

 

Note: If you don't see Disk Management listed, you may need to click on the |> icon to the left of the Storage icon.

Hello,

 

I have a problem with the computer. Whilst watching a video, my computer stopped and everything froze. I shut the computer down and on start-up it brought me to this screen:

I placed my Windows 8.1 CD in the drive but it didn't do anything.

 

Then I found that pressing F8 while it is booting I can choose where to boot it from.

 

Now the several things I done:

 

I tried to run from the CD and repair the computer - it didn't work.

I put the windows key in when it asked me for it to try and install? - it didn't work

Several times I turned the computer off and on but it just leads me to the screen about a problem.

I pressed F8 and ran from the SSD (where windows is installed) and this is the only one that seems to work, however I done a system restore and it said that it was successful but when I restart the computer, it still leads back to the problem screen.

 

Any help please?
