Have had this PC from day 1. (Around 5-6 years) This computer is nothing special. Recently i picked up a virus and it took over my whole User account, I had that fixed. Took all of my old programs and had them installed on my new user account. I have never had problems with this computer before the other day. I run Windows 7, Ccleaner, SpyBot Search&Destroy along with Malwarebytes. I use defraggler on disc and hard drive every other day. my computer is in top notch performance, except the issue i just ran into! After i made a new user account and put all of my programs back on here, When i try to connect to the internet (Mozilla Firefox is prefrence) Mozilla Firefox/Chrome i see the icon in the lower right hand of screen with a computer it gets a yellow line through it and says no internet connection, within a few seconds (5-30) it goes away and its like nothing ever happened. But still is VERY slow at loading pages. iv contacted my ISP and they did all there checks and said it has to be my pc.  Please someone help me Thanks in advance Adam from Arkansas

Hello!! Not necessary to defrag every day. Once a month should be plenty.

Have you ran chkdsk? I didn't see that mentioned. How much free space do you have on your HD??

Are you connecting to the internet wireless?

Sorry for all the questions, but they are important.

Stop defraging every day.

You can also check your memory by typing Windows Memory Diagnostics in the search bar.

Did your PC come with W7?

I have only been Defragging this often to try and make speeds better other than that i normally only use it 1-2 times a month. I have not ran chkdsk. I have 104Gb out of 139 Free, Wired conection about 2 feet from modem, and i understand all the questions. without questions there would be no solution :)

chkdsk = The Type of File System is NTFS.

???? You need to run a chkdsk.

The easiest way is to right click on your C drive- left click on properties-left click on tools-left click check now- check both boxes-restart your computer.

There will be 5 stages and a report will be made. This may take a long time. It takes about two hours for my HD.
