Of late when I browse or select a web site(even this one) I tend to get a pop-up video advertisement that shows up on right hand of screen, near taskbar(clock, speaker, etc) and was wondering if this is something unique to firefox or google and if it can be blocked.  Could there be an add-on that I am not aware of that came with a program or application download.  This has only been happening for 6 or 7 days.  It doesnt seem to have anything to do with any of my browsing habits

Hi waynf :)

To me it looks like you have been infected with Adwares and maybe a Browser Hijacker at the same time. You can get assistance to get these removed as well as get your system cleaned in the Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal section. You'll be assisted by a Geek that will walk you through scans and logs in order to remove that infection and any other malware you could have on your system. In order to post in this section, you have to read this thread here and follow all the instruction/indications in it when creating your thread in the section mentionned above.

Good luck ! :)
